I'm looking for budget hotels (under US$20)in Mex City. Not fussed on quality so long as it has a lock on the door, a bed and running water.Also heading to Guadalajara, Acapulco and Oaxaca, among a scattering of other places.Thanks.

Man, have I got a list for you. However, you will not find them on the internet. The directions may be difficult to give to you. Let me see if I can find the info to give to you.These hotels cost 200 pesos just under $20 USD for a room for two people. If you are one person it might be cheaper. I have spent time at both of these hotels and they are fine.You will not find any tourist hotel for this price, but the hotels I will mention are clean, good running water, provide everything like say a Motel 6 would, neither continetal breakfasts nor in room refrigerators are provided.1. There is the Hotel Manolo II. It is located a couple of blocks from Metro Balderas.2. Hotel Bonampak (spelling) is in a generally good area.Let ME get back with some more information on these two hotels. Give ME a few hours since I am working at the same time and I need to find the locatioins.

in gualdalajara and oaxaca you will surely find such places but in Mexico DF and Acapulco it will be more difficult and when you do it might be a horrible hole in the wall. Ask the locals they will know.
