I want to go to Teotihuacan in mexico, what is the best hotel to stay at? I live near mexico city in toluca. i'm from chicago and have been here for 4 years. i go to DF (Mexico City) most weekends. I stay at Hotel Milan http://www.hotelmilan.com.mx/html/hotel.html The hotel is very nice and just completely revovated. About 400 pesos ($40 USD) per night. Up to $60 for a suite. The neighborhood is safe and very Bohemian feeling. Lots of nice not too pricey reataurants. Walking distance to the metro and Zona Rosa (8-10 minutes) If you stay at a Sheraton ($125 USD per night), you sorta lose the feeling that you're in Mexico IMHO. Take an authorized taxi from the airport (152 pesos) to the hotel. Teotihuacan is really cool. To get there you take the metro (2 pesos) to Indios Verdes stop on line 3. You will get on the metro on line 1 at the INSURGENTES station and go DIRRECION PANTITLAN two stops to BALDERAS you will get off and look for Line 3 (it's all underground and interconnected) and when you see it you will go in DIRECCION INDIOS VERDES. The last stop on that particular line. You get out of the station at "J EXIT" walk up the stairs. Ask someone for "los camiones por las pyramides" They'll help you. At this stop everyone is used to seeing gringos who are a bit confused. The people are friendly. The bus trip to the pyramids is about an hour long, and costs about 40-50 pesos. This sounds a bit confusing, but the subway is very easy to use as all of the signs are made easy to use for those in the country who cannot read well. Here is a map of the subway system that you will use. http://www.metro.df.gob.mx/red/index.htmlTaking a taxi would cost you an arm and a leg, and it wouldn't be such an adventure. I have NEVER had a problem on the subway. Just mind your P's and Q's as you would in any big city. There are lots of super cool things to see in Mexico City. Hit me up and I'll be glad to help out.
