We are looking for a good timeshare hotel in Puerto Vallarta?

We are looking for next year. Have been to PV before and want to avoid all inclusive. We can't stand the food on AI anymore and PV has the best food in Mexico anyways! We are new RCI members and would like suggestions. It seems like most exchanges are AI. We are not trying to be cheap, but it just doesn't pay for us to go AI anymore.

Villa del Palmar Flamingos has excellent food, beautiful ocean view rooms, gorgeous landscaping. We stayed there in Feb. and would definitely reccomend it.

I have been doing research myself, lots for I plan on going to PV this November. I am also an RCI member and w/ my research it appears that the Grand Mayan is suppose to be top notch. They have a few different Mayan resorts but they say the Grand is one of the nicest (non AI) - you can visit the others while staying at one. I have not been there, just what I have been told. I actually am wondering if you have seen or know anything about the Gran Velas while you were in PV last time. It is an AI but that is easier for us when traveling as long as the food is great which means the resorts are higher priced, but...Anything you can tell me about that resort or the beaches for swimming?Good luck!
