What is the best way to save money on a vacation to cancun?

I've been to mexico a couple times and have found the travel rates to be highly variable. Is it cheaper to book the hotel and flights at the last minute? Are there any websites that have particularly cheap all-inclusive hotel and flight deals?

I have always had better luck booking through an agent rather than risking it on the net... However, I will say your best bet would be to go all inclusive. Some resorts offer better deals when you call them versus booking it straight online. Good luck and have a great vacation!

I agree, all-inclusive is the way to go. Also, you can save money by taking everything you think you may need with you. Because Cancun is a tourist attraction, everything there costs double what it costs here. Oh, and it's best to find the clubs that do the $20 wristbands that allow you to drink all night (if you're going to party) that way you don't spend too much. I went for a week and left spending only $250 and I had a great time and didn't have to skimp on anything! Good luck, and be safe!

You really have to do some research before you can figure out what's cheap and what's really expensive. I did a lot of research for our upcoming trip to Cancun. I checked all the sites and than I called my local travel agency and they were a couple of hundred dollars cheaper plus I got a better room for my money. I got oceanfront and saved money too. If you travel in Sept, you are going to find deals. It's hurricane season's worst month (sometimes) October is another month, that's risky. BTW, I have traveled both months and lucked out. But I purchased travel insurance just in case of a bad storm.I wish you luck and I hope you find a good deals
