check out www.orbitz.com, they have some good and cheap hotels on their website. If you book directly from the hotel website you can usually get a cheap rate since you are not paying extra for their commission.

The Aston Waikiki is cheap and it is only 2 blocks away from Waiki beach.I stayed there with some friends and it was cheap and nice. They also have a great pool!

Check out the Outrigger Ohana hotels, you can usually get a great weekly rate and some are really close to Waikiki beach.

check out any of the hotels in the Outrigger chain. They usually are pretty nice (as most of them started out as something else) and are reasonably priced.Good luck!

Aqua Waikiki Wave. Rooms just remodeled, very good ratings. Few amenities.
