I would suggest staying at hostels as well as using a Eurorail pass on Europes railway for travel throughout Europe. This would be the easiest and least expensive way to travel across Europe. Below are a few websites that might be of help. If you've never stayed at a hostel, I would also suggest that you give them a try. They're often very nice but often have shared facilities but since there would be three of you traveling, you'll probably be able to get your room together. Also, they often have kitchens available where you can cook your own food. Additionally, if you're a student, you can get many discounts with Euro passes. As for flights, your best bet is to look for flight deals on line. Below are a few sites that you should visit (the first two being the best/safe sites that I know of);http://www.raileurope.com/us/index.htmhttp://www.hiayh.org/http://www.railkey.com/tickets/homeeurope.asp?AFF=HIHhttp://www.eurorailways.com/http://www.hostelineurope.com/topHostel/elenco.phphttp://www.hostels.com/en/europe.htmlYou should be able to get by with Hosteling International and raileurope.com. Additionally, if you look around for flights online, through sites like orbitz.com, etc., you should be able to find inexpensive round trip airfare for less than $600 round trip, especially if you are flexible with dates, etc. However, if you really look around and try many different dates, you may be able to find some even cheaper deals. You will be able to get all the pricing info. you need at the above sites while planning your trip out. Good luck to you!P.S. Don't forget, you'll need passports. Apply early if you don't already have one.

the train pass is the continent and ireland, but not england etc....if you are old enough you can get a car for about 800 for a month, but gas is pricey.Last summer I went for about 60 days and think I spent about 4500$ but stayed with friends some of the time. Summer airfair is expensive too, at least 1,000 from the usa. think, 1000+ for plane, 500-1000 for train/car and at least 60 per day for hotel, food, cigarettes, etc....www.eurail.com

The entire thing.....I would say around 1800 for the travel (assuming you are looking at cheaper style hostels). You can average 25 bucks a night for that plus the 650 it might take to get over there...plus I would expect 700 for cash during that time. Of course budget for an extra 500, but otherwise it isn't too bad money wise.Travel in Europe...400 should get you a 5 country 10 day eurail, but look into ryanair for greece, because you will be amazed.Total $2,900 for 45 days is doable for everything if you are willing to skimp a bit.

The cheapest way to travel in the Czech Republic is to stay either at friend's houses or in local bed and breakfasts. In Prague these are more expensive than hostels, but outside of touristy areas, the price is as low as 100 Crowns ($5) per night. Camping in the woods is not really allowed, but not really enforced if you do it out of sight. And all the forests are open to hikers. The cheapest way to travel for more than two people is not by train any more, but to buy a cheap car. You can buy a cheap car for about $500, and insurance is about $100. Insurance is more expensive in western countries, I have heard). You need to get an international driver's license before you leave America. AAA insurance office is usually cheap and quick. If you hitch-hike, make a small sign saying your destination, and that helps you get a ride.My group of friends spends about $50 per day traveling abroad for all 4 people in the group. Most people, however, spend that much per person.Fast food here is more expensive than the cheap restaurants, some of which are quite good. The best way to eat is out of a grociery store.Feel free to contact me if anything I said is unclear.
