The cost of one person traveling to europe (12 different countries)...PLEASE HELP? I did about a 100 day trip. I stayed mostly in inexpensive hotels, pensions, and hostels. Did some splurging on food, museums, and some random excursions (canyoning in Switzerland, para gliding in Turkey, etc). Had a Eurorail pass. Did both eastern and western Europe. Traveling that way, it was probably about $100 per day including EVERYTHING.If you get a Eurorail pass that suits you and stay exclusively in those countries, that will cut down on the cost. The UK is quite expensive and it's more difficult to backpack. Switzerland can be quite expensive as well. Greece is pretty cheap. Spain not too bad. If you're going to be there in July, I'd DEFINITELY go to Pomplona, Spain for the Running of the Bulls. Eastern Europe is a LOT less expensive than western Europe, and in my opinion has a lot more charm. I LOVE Spain and Italy. You might also consider flying into London, and then just getting cheap flights with ryanair, airlingus, or other budget carriers. You could hop around the capital cities pretty easily that way. It's not uncommon to find one way tickets for about $50 or so from London to Paris, Rome, Madrid, Barcelona, Munich, Morrocco, etc. I just looked on ryanair and you can get one way tickets to: Barcelona, Italy, Mallorca, Pisa, for about $20 one way.It depends on how you spend your time and what you like to spend your money on, but I think it could be done for $5000 on the cheap, or $10,000 fairly comfortably. |
