The further away from the centre you are the cheaper it gets and the tube is pretty relaiable on the whole. If you're looking for hotels, always use a price comparison site. I either go for travelsupermarket.com or one of the hotels combined sites like Hotel Price Scanner - Hotel Price Comparison Engine. Have saved a lot of money over the years using sites like this.

I am not sure which part of London does it belong to but "Club Quarters St. Pauls" is one of the bebst and cheapest hotel.
