Is there anything I should watch for like certain practices or taboos? I remember an incident of a traveler who went to Japan and got into travel for sticking his chopsticks upright on a bowl of rice...Is there a similar case in China?

I dont, Japanese are funny people, they do things out in the blue, they are a nice bunch of high tech Asians, what do you mean chopsticksm of course, they use chopsticks for eating..

Hmm...I meant "trouble" earlier. Must have been a typo. Anyway, sticking chopsticks in a bowl of rice in Japan is a no-no since it's a practice usually done when somebody passes away...
