Default A semi-easy Tomato Bisque recipe?

So my girlfriend has been out of town for a week and a half or so and I'd like to surprise her with her favorite dinner (bisque). I'm not completely without talent for cooking but I'm no emeril either, so something easy-intermediate would be appreciated! I've checked several sites but there's really no feedback on the taste etc. so something you've personally had! Thanks in advance!(Also, what sort of flowers are good for this time of the year? >.<)

Tulips are usually easy to find this time of year. In all honesty, go to walmart! They have a bazillion flowers. =)As for tomato bisque-aww. you're so cute.http://www.recipezaar.com/49957 that one isn't too difficult at all. =)

Default A semi-easy Tomato Bisque recipe?

*** This is my own recipe. Purchase some soft french bread at your stores bakery the day you plan on making this for her.The flowers... go with what looks prettiest, what she likes, colors she likes ect. I think it is very sweet you are doing this! ) Good luck!INGREDIENTS1 medium onion, chopped 2 tablespoons butter or margarine 2 (14.5 ounce) cans diced tomatoes, undrained 2 (10.75 ounce) cans condensed tomato soup, undiluted 1 1/2 cups milk 1 teaspoon sugar 1/2 teaspoon dried basil 1/2 teaspoon paprika 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, cubed DIRECTIONSIn a saucepan, saute onion in butter until tender. Add to a crock pot. Stir in tomatoes, soup, milk, sugar, basil, paprika, garlic powder and cream cheese. Cook on low for 8-10 hours or high for 4-5. (Cooking in the crock pot really helps bring out the flavors- If you don't have a crock pot then put all the ingredients in a pan, minus the cream cheese- Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 10 minutes. Stir in cream cheese until melted. Serve immediately.)
