I'm going on a vacation from Washington to Arizona at the end of the month, and I was wondering the cheapest way to rent a car with great gas mileage? I heard a suggestion once of seeing if one of the rental companies has a car that needs to be returned to that state? I've never rented a car before so I'm totally in the dark, please help with good suggestions!

See whats available for the price you want and then you can check the gas mileage at a car website for models you would like to rent.
