I'll be visiting NY with one of my friend around New Year and I wanted to know if there is any cheap place to live in, like some private hotels or something close by JFK airport. I've never been to NY and I've no clue how things are up there. I tried to look it up online and I couldn't find anything under $100 a night. But I know one thing that private hotels would be much cheaper than some star hotels. And also, I want to visit downtown and see manhattan, so would it be a good idea to rent a care, if so, where is the cheapest place to get it from?Please help guys, I'm going there for the first time, I know that I'll be lost most of my time in city, but I just want some cheap place to live in, which is also in good neighbourhood.

There is no cheap car rental in NYC, $100 a day is cheap and then spend $20 every time you park. Get a metrocard and use the subway like everyone else does. It's the fastest way to get around.
