 Never rented a car before. Dont own one, and im covered under my mother. HELP?
Your mother's insurance should extend to a rental under the 'temp./sub. vehicle' clause on her policy, HOWEVER -- if you're thinking that her rental coverage will cover the actual cost of the rental car, it won't (unless the break-down is a covered loss under her policy). Most every auto policy is written to extend all coverage to another vehicle for a limited time when the insured vehicle is out of service or simply not being driven for some reason. Call your company just to be sure.PS - the insurance the rental car company offers is a total rip-off and horribly expensive so DON'T buy it unless you have to.
