Never rented a car before. Dont own one, and im covered under my mother. HELP? okay, as i stated. I dont own a car. I was covered under my mothers Geico insurance. The car broke down, so I want to get a rental car. Now, I'm thinking I can just get some insurance from an insurance company and all, but will my mothers insurance cover me? Or is it possible to get cheap car insurance for JUST a rental? Basically, I am trying to understand the whole car rental thing. I'm 26 by way if that helps. Thanks a million in advance.i only want a rental for 5 days.

Never rented a car before. Dont own one, and im covered under my mother. HELP? Call your insurance company to see if you are covered. It varies from company to company. It is about $25/day usually to get bumper-to-bumper insurance from the rental company. If you are renting a car for a while, it really adds up...

Never rented a car before. Dont own one, and im covered under my mother. HELP? If your mother's car insurance covers you,it also covers whatever you rent. They always ask you to take out rental insurance at the car rental, but it' makes it about $10 more dollars per day. My insurance co.told me my insurance covered me,the rental co.just trys to sell their insurance and get more money...Also you have to have a credit card in order to rent a car.Your mom's insurance co. may provide you with a rental car.mine does.

Never rented a car before. Dont own one, and im covered under my mother. HELP? Call Geico and see if they cover rental cars. Some insurance policies do. Also, car rental agencies offer complete insurance to be purchased separately when you rent the car. I reccomend having replacement and repair insurance. Even a ding can get expensive.

Never rented a car before. Dont own one, and im covered under my mother. HELP? You will have to ask the insurance company if you're covered under your mother's insurance since all policies are different. Otherwise, the rental company will be HAPPY to sell you insurance (for ONLY $7 per day, or something like that). Even if your insurance company says you're covered, expect a hard sell for the rental company's insurance.. they'll try to scare the crap out of you to take it (either way).

Never rented a car before. Dont own one, and im covered under my mother. HELP? If you were covered under your mom's Geico insurance, it should transfer over. However the best thing to do is to contact Geico to be sure as it may depend on how their policy is written. Then if it doesn't, then pick up the rental insurance. The rental company would have it available for you to purchase for the time that you are renting it.

Never rented a car before. Dont own one, and im covered under my mother. HELP? I recommend renting the car, but not getting the insurance that they offer. Its just a scam to make more money off of you. If you have full coverage that will work.
