Love hotels are just for a short stay... a few hours to a night. These are place just to go have sex.... Look for other places to stay for your vacation.

Yes, if you stay overnight in a Love Hotel you get a lot of room for your money. For 10000 yen or so you get a room the size of 30000 yen room in a luxury hotel. The problem is about the earliest you can check in at the "o-tomari" rate is 22:00 and you have to be out by 09:00 or so. Check in/out couldn't be any easier though!

I don't recommend you because it is not worth to stay there. Once u leave the room, you have to take your luggage along and can't have the the room back again. There is also hidden camera in some rooms. I think u won't feel comfortable if there is it there. Can u actually sleep and rest in that kind of room? In this small room, you will feel like having not much space and it is like a maze as the entrance and the exit is different. You shouldn't live here for 3 months, you won't have fresh air. Changing your idea by staying in the hostel would be much more better as it has a lower price of accommodation compared to alternatives like hotels.

Some traditional ryokans (Japanese inns) offer very cheap accomodation at 3000-6000yen for 1person. One popular and economical hotel chain is Toyoko Inn which has over 100 branches throughout Japan, mostly near the train stations. Prices range from 6000yen for 1 person. Other chain are the Sunroute hotel, Washington hotel, Chisun hotel, Villa Fontaine and Hotel Sakura. Google them up. Love hotels only accept daily use of rooms and do not allow reservations. There're many other hostels and guesthouses which are cheap.

A love hotel is NOT a good idea. Nothing is cheap in Tokyo...Your best bet maybe a travel agent who has conections there who can get you a cheaper rate. People only go to a love hotel for a few hours.

Love hotels are places people go for a few hours to shack up, if you are a lone traveler it is highly likely they will turn you away.It is not the best place to stay at.If you are looking for a mixture of price and privacy, then stay at "Business Hotels" business hotels range starting from around 60 USD a night.Otherwise you have dormitories, and hostels but you lose any privacy in those when it comes to using shared facilities such as restroom and dining.http://www.tokyoexplorer.org/lodging.html

No, love motels won't work for long term.that's what you need to do: share an apartment house with other people/foreigners (called gaijin houses). that's what most of foreigners do because is much cheaper!here are the websites for you to search room for rent:www.sakura-house.comwww.metropolis.co.jpwww.tokyoclassifieds. comI am confident you will find the best prices for accomodations on these sites as long as you are willing to share.

Everyone else talked about love hotels, so I'll just skip over that. You can find a lot of really nice and cheap hostels on the internet. Some of them are as cheap as 3000 yen per night, depending on location and cleanliness. You can use hihostel.com or hostels.com to find a lot of really affordable places to stay, and most of them offer online booking. Good luck!

Love hotels are NOT a good solution. It doesn't work as a regular hotel. You can check in and stay there for a few hours or overnight, and you can always "extend" the time of your stay, but once you check out, you have to take all of your belongings with you.How long are you planning on staying there for? If it is for long then consider weekly or monthly apartments... those come in handy if you are planning on staying there for a while. When you look on the web, try to avoid the metropolitan area... Say you are staying in Yokohama. Look up the train map around Yokohama and look for hotels/motels around 1 or 2 stations away from Yokohama. For 1 station ride in a train is usually 5-7 mins, so this way you may avoid the high price of hotels in Yokohama, but can still be very close.
