Do you identify yourself as an african, or rather as descendant of Europeans that happen to live in South Africa? Also, if you travel abroad and someone mistakenly calls you european, american etc, do you correct them or just let it go?oh i see, lol. This was not intended for black SA. However I do see your point. I just wanted to see if white s. africans identified as africans when they could be mistaken as Europeans. In essence whether they identified more as africans than europeans.Due to protests, If you are south african and wish to comment, no problem. If i offended anyone then I apologize. I can assure you it was question that had no inner meaning apart from the ones expressed earlier.

I correct them.. cause I am Filippino but some people mistaken me as Korean..

I am a white South African and proud to be called South African. I do not consider my self as descendant of Europeans at all since I was born and raised in South Africa. I do correct people if I am called European.

Why would this not be for Blacks too? Are they special where you are from? Grow some circles and say whatever the F you want to say about yourself. ANd by special I mean sensitive and inferior complexed!! Im african thru and thru. I seriously dont see myself as european and if i was mistaken for one, i would be very quick to correct them!

I was born in Africa, so I consider myself African, with European Ancestors.As for travelling abroad, I've never left the african continent, so I have never been incorrectly labelled as a European. I would however correct the person who made the mistake.

I once sat with some South Africans and we disscussed this very issue. Regarding Eueope USA Asia . The concencus was white SA are not indigenous people of Africa. They can call themselves what they like. In the west they are acceipted and it is not an issue like in South Africa.
