You could go on safari, see the prison that held Nelson Mandela for so many years, hit the beaches... have lots of fun - South Africa is high on my list of places to go!

Hi cohibasm,There is soooo much to do in Cape Town. It really depends on what your interests are. I will give you a few links and then you decide which are your favourites:http://au.travel.yahoo.com/guide/south-africa/cape-town/index.htmlhttp://www.lonelyplanet.com/worldguide/destinations/africa/south-africa/cape-townhttp://www.cape-town.org/http://www.tourismcapetown.co.za/za/guide/114494sy,en,SCH1/objectId,RGN23za,_area,capetown,selectedEntry,home/home.htmlhttp://www.cape-town.info/http://capetown.cityguidesa.com/http://www.aboutcapetown.com/I would recommend Table Mountain(either a walk or by cable way), Cape Point, Robben Island, Waterfront, Penguins at Boulders Beach, a Township Tour and a day on the Beach.Have fun planning. If you need any more info, feel free to ask the experts on Yahoo Q&A!

The one thing anyone visiting South Africa needs to be aware of is the violent crime.Cape Town may be beautiful but it is also a crime hotspot probably because it attracts Tourists. There is no place in particular in Cape Town where you can avoid crime as it happens all over, anytime and anyplace. Cakes recommends Table Mountain and anyone would agree except that it has been the scene of numerous attacks on holiday makers to the extent that it is now considered un-policeable by the authorities. You need to be aware of your personal security and that of your possessions and not to go anywhere unaccompanied or after dark. This site reports on the crime daily:http://www.crimexposouthafrica.netMarrs Attack - Your Mother must suffer many sleepless nights wishing she had had an abortion.

There is so much to see and do but i would say Company Gardens in Adderley Street where you can feed the squirrels, the Castle, the Waterfront, Long Street for some fine antiques, Blouberg Strand for a spectacular view of Table Mountain and definitely a ride on the cable car to the top of Table Mountain, preferably at dusk so you can see all the lights of Cape Town and the moon rising over he sea - magnificent and i Love that place so enjoy it

Please ignore what Alf Garnett says.He is not from South Africa and doesnt live there. He always attaches Rightwing crime websites to his answers.Check out his previous Q´s and A´s and you will get the picture.Whereas SA has a crime problem it is not as bad as what he says.He has it in for SA because the 2010 world cup is being held there and he is pissed off about it.To answer your question -The previous answerers added some really cool places.Alsocheck out the Cederberg Mountains about 2 hours outside of Cape Town. Its amazing.Enjoy.http://www.cederberg.co.za/
