Default Someone who knows computer types well...?

I am wanting to buy a good laptop for a reasonable price. I will need it to be used for storing work, music, photos, occasional gaming and internet and has a good battery life. (I will also be travelling back with it to South Africa.) I was wondering if the Sony VNG-NR10E/S would be suitable for me and is a good buy, or if you knew of any that would be better.thank you (I know it is quite a difficult question)

Sony's are good. it just depends on how much you want to spend. Apple is another good brand to check out. i have an apple laptop and i paid around $1400. you can get them cheaper than this. i had a hp laptop and it was great

hi lauren sony laptops are disgustingly expensive and are not much better than a laptop half its price dont get me wrong,if you like the sony range then buy one, they are good and have some excellent specifications however there are other very good laptops such as the MESH ASUS F5 - Pro from http://www.meshcomputers.com/Default.aspx?PAGE=PRODUCTVIEWPAGE&USG=PRODUCT&ENT= PRODUCT&KEY=173105 this has some excellent specifications including a Intel® Core™ Duo T2250 Dual Core Processor(2 X 1.73GHz,1MB Cache L2 cache,667MHz FSB),1GB DDRII 677MHZ Memory ( 1 x 1GB) and a 120GB 5400RPM S-ATA Hard Drive however the outstanding specification in this laptop is the 512MB DDRIII ATI X2300 Hyper Memory (128MB dedicated VRAM, 384MB integrated Memory),this is a great graphics adapter and will play most modern games and run all applications with ease,it will also produce amazing dvd and video playback as well as bringing clarity to your photos other specifications include a DVD Super Format Dual Layer (-/+) DVD-RW Drive with Decoder Software,Wireless LAN - 802.11b /g (with Built in antenna) and a Built in1.3 mega pixel 240° swivel webcam for wire-free video communication the operating system comes in the shape of Windows® XP Professional Edition.and the display is a 15.4"WXGA Glare type Wide Screen active colour with resolution 1280 x 800 this laptop in my opinion is a good all round laptop with everything you need to enjoy the internet and run any application or game with ease also considering your going to be travelling the 2 years worldwide warranty Parts & Labour-(collection & return UK & N.Ireland) comes in very handy and the wireless lan means you can easily use any wireless network that you come across while on your travels any problems let me know good luck lauren !
