Default Traveling to Tanzania/Kenya?

My family and I are traveling to Tanzania/Kenya (we havent decided which yet depending upon whether or not the political problems in kenya settle) and I was just wondering what would be the best way to dress. It will be in the 90s and sunny and hot. I would just love to wear some tropical tanks and tube tops and shorts but im concerned about like sexual suggests from other people there or offending the muslim population. idk. or would it not ofend them considering im a tourist? what do you think? and I was also wondering what other things would be handy to bring, we will be staying 3 nights on a safari and 4 on a beach resort. THANKS

Please don't wear "tropical tanks and tube tops" to Africa!! Whenever you travel, *always* try to dress the way the locals do. Not only is it a sign of respect, but it's a way to keep yourself from being assaulted or worse. Wear long skirts, long (knee-length) shorts (neutral colours - not "tropical" or beach-wear) and tshirts or loose tank tops. (No spaghetti straps and nothing really tight-fitting.) You can buy appropriate clothing at any travel store. They have shorts and tshirts that are breathable in the heat. I recommend picking up the Lonely Planet Tanzania guide, LP Kenya and/or LP East Africa. There are lots of tips in there on how to dress as well as numerous other helpful things. LP guides have helped me more than I can say in all of my travels and are easily the best guides on the market.
