Default What is going on at the Magic Kingdom in Disney World on Christmas Day?

Is the televised parade actually going to be that morning? Or have we missed everything really special going on during the season?

It is pre-recorded a few weeks in advance. You have already missed it this year as it was taped a couple of weeks ago on Nov 30th/Dec 1st.But they still do have holiday stuff going on through the holidays.

As OC said the parade you see on TV on Christmas day is pre-recorded over a couple of days and the performances over even more days. The parade will still run, same parade, just not what everyone sees on TV. All other holiday festivities will be going on and from what I have heard it is very crowded on Christmas day. If you planning on going to WDW MK on Christmas go at opening and dont leave the park during the day, good chance they will fill to capacity and if you leave you may not be able to re-enter.

As the posters above me noted, the christmas parade that is being aired on TV has already been recorded so there will not be any of the special performances while you are there on Christmas day. However, they will be performing the same Christmas Parade and then a special fireworks show that evening along with a few other special Christmas shows.I just wanted to elaborate a little bit more on what the poster above me said about the park being crowded also. Crowded is almost an understatement. If you are planning on going to the Magic Kingdom on Christmas morning, plan on arriving pretty early and ready to wait a while at the gate before the park opens. The Magic Kingdom typically fills close to capacity on Christmas Day, and will start to turn people away in different phases as more people enter. Just because you have a ticket, does not mean that you are guaranteed entry to the park of your choice, it just means that you are guaranteed entry to one of the parks on property. So with that in mind, go early and once in the parks be patient! It's going to be crowded and busy, but if you plan right and use fast passes properly, it can be managed pretty easily!
