I just read this on yahoo news,and wanted to add my comment on discussion,but yahoo removed discussions from news articles ,I don't know why. Anyway I have a link to the news story here and I agree and applaud the airlines for their action in this matter. The family says at the end of the story that they will never fly that airline again. I hope i don't run into that family on an airplane anywhere. Thank god there is some common sense amongst the airline industry to kick these people off the plane. They were compensated very well ,with reimbursement plane tickets,and free flight passes as well. I can't believe that the father of the family was upset over this,goes to show you that parents today think that unruly children in public is quite alright. I'm all for it, the parents were refunded they're money and got free flight vouchers. If you can't control your toddler long enough for a plane to take off DRIVE!!!!! It irritates me that the parents were angered by the airline, the law is the law and the flight crew was only doing their jobs. Some people are really unreasonable.

I've a 5 year and a 1 year old. Still I agree with what the airline did. Fifteen minutes is probably enough. And if you still need more time, well the airline just did that by deplaning them. Infact it was appreciable that the airline actually refunded them the cost of their tickets which I sure was demanded by the father.I don't see anything wrong with what the airline did.PS: I see on another link at http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070123/ap_on_re_us/flight_tantrum_1 that apart from refunding their ticket cost, airlines also offered them three roundtrip tickets anywhere the airline flies.

Yes! I read the article. Hooray for the airline!! I noted, though, that the butthead father, who got his money back PLUS free airfare to anywhere else the airline goes, said he won't fly with them again. Moron - obviously he blames the airline and not his own out-of-control kid or his own bad parenting. Wonder how he would have felt if his flight were being held up by someone else's kid? P.S. My parents would have knocked me out cold if I tried that sort of %$&^.

The airline have obligation to other passengers and making sure that flight is not delayed any longer. If this was someone else's child, I am sure that the parents wouldn't think twice of the airline had done. I think the airline made a right decision and they even refunded the money and given three free tickets for them to use any time.

I'm extremely unhappy of what Air Tram Airlines did to this poor family. It was rude and disgraceful to all of ATA!

I absolutely agree with what the airline did. Besides the other passengers they showed concern for the child herself. Children need to be strapped into a seat on take off. They cared more for her safety than the parents did
