Hi,I'm moving in a few weeks and need some help, in terms of where to live etc.I've done extensive research and everybody is saying that traffic is bad, stay away from the 405, live where you work, find an apartment with parking, don't go inland etc.I'm a 36yr old white (Russian) male with wife and two kids (1 and 3 years old)...I wanted to be as close to the beach as possible.I'm hoping to live in a neighborhood, and not have to go far for entertainmentAny help at all will be appreciated.Interested in a 2 or 3 bed under $1300.Thank you for reading thru all of this.

Well if you don't already have a job in LA, you can try Orange County, there are some great beach communities, just remember anything close to the beach will be more expensive.

You won't be able to get real close to the beach in a nice neighborhood as those rents are usually $2,000 or more a month. Even 4 blks away from the beach is $1500-$1800 a month. Stay away from Long Beach(not a good area anymore),Huntington Beach is too expensive,Manhattan Beach is still too expensive and Laguna Nigel is out of the question. Even Santa Monica is too high.
