Default Carnival Cruise Lines?

I have only been on one cruise and that was last year for my cousins wedding and we went on Royal Carribean and I can not say enough good things about them!! Serously it was the best time of my life!!Now my boyfriend and I are going on a cruise for our friends wedding and they chose Carnival and I have heard nothing but BAD things about this cruise line! They have already jacked up their prices by $75.00 after we put our downpayment down.I have heard they have crappy service too!!I mean I am going cause its my best friends wedding but what am I in for??Is it going to be as terrible as I am hearing??

Carnival isn't quite Royal Caribbean, but I have been on 3 and never spent a bad minute. A lot depends on which ship it is. About15 years ago, I went on Carnival's smallest ship, the Mardi Gras. It has since been retired. It was old and built like a battleship, but I had a fabulous time nevertheless. All of their 4-star and above ships are really good for the price. Bon Voyage!.

I have been on both cruise lines and love Carnival. I'm not old (42) , I have traveled both with and without my kids. I haven't found it too rowdy or too quiet. The service was far superior than what i experienced on RCCL. I thought the food was better ( RCCL food was OK but there was no WOW factor). The ships I have been on have been clean and the service wonderful. With anything you can have better or worse but I found its been mostly consistent on all 6 Carnival cruises I have been on. I have taken 3,4,5 ,7 and * day cruises and haven't found much difference with food and service. I also just received the $75 fuel charge but c'est la vie, in the scheme of things the trip is still a fantastic value for what you get. Have fun and try not to listen....lol

I have done 3 Carnival Cruises (among others). They were all fantastic. Carnival did not get to be the largest line by putting out an inferior product. I'm really sorry about the extra $75, but all the lines have put on the extra fuel surcharge last week. Its not their fault that fuel prices have gone through the roof. Please try to keep an open mind. The people with the most positive attitudes have the best time.

All of the cruise lines have added a fuel surcharge recently due to the rising cost of fuel.Note..Carnival is the parent company for Winstar, Princess, Cunard, Costa, Holland America and the Yachts of Seabourn. We have sailed both RC and Carnival among other cruise lines. I have to say the RC had the worst service and worst ship of them all. The plumbing on the ship did not work and most of the public bathrooms were closed and the bathrooms in the cabins were constantly stopped up. The cabin steward failed to service a cabin 5 of 7 days and the pursers were indifferent to our comments. The bar staff ignored us because we were soda customers. We won't sail RC again. We love Carnival and have hosted several large family gatherings on board Carnival. The kids/teens love the 24x7 pizzeria and the overall experience has always been fun.Our service aboard the Carnival lines has always been excellent and they provide a great value in crusing.

Default Carnival Cruise Lines?

i just got back yesterday from my first cruise on the carnival paradise. i, too heard this was the cheap, inferior, young 'booze cruise'. not so. i booked a regular ocean view cabin and was upgraded to a deluxe suite with a balcony. unobstructed. we had a fantastic time. the food was fantastic and i was a little worried because i just started weight watchers. they had very rich indulgences and a spa menu that was actually fabulous. i blew it a little with the chateaubriand on the last night.i can't imagine better service. although it was my first cruise, i've been to many, many five star hotels, restaurants and b&b's. the service on thiscruise was phenominal. they went out of their way to remember my three year old and addressed him by name whenever we met. we used the camp carnival childcare and i felt very comfortable with the security they employed. they were very professional. genteel yet firm when enforcing rules. i had to show my card, show my pager and sign in/out each time before the dutch door would even be opened for my son.my dad took the rc to alaska this summer and he said the carnival cruise he took 10 years ago had the best food he's ever had. have a great time. this will be as terrible or as fun as you make it. the only problem i had was the activities. i couldn't keep up and missed a lot when i napped. but what a cush nap!

Carnival is FUN. You will have a GREAT time. Royal Caribbean started charging the $5 per day fuel charge on Friday too. They are ALL doing it. You are going to have a BLAST!!! Remember it's the FUN ship
