Default Carnival cruise lines...?

Know anyway to be upgraded on the ship? Or to get free credits to use onboard?

some T.A. s give credits to use on board or there are special sales where carnival would do that. As far as upgrades go, to me there seems no ryme or reason to it. Sometimes someone who has just cruised one time with a company or two times , they will get an upgrade (if its possible).and then other times it won't happen at all.good luck

I believe your question was about being upgraded ON THE SHIP. The answer is no. 99% of the time, the ship sails full and there will be signs to that effect when you check in and at the pursers desk. If they have upgrade cabins available, there will be signs to that effect but you would have to BUY the upgrade.Your travel agent may or may not have some coupon-type things that could be used on board for a drink or a percentage off in the shops but Carnival (nor any other cruise company) doesn't just give out free credits. If the ship has to miss a port for one reason or another, the company will "credit" back to you the amount of port taxes for the missed port but that is not really a "free" credit.

Subscribe to their email newsletter and they will send you the dates when you can get free upgrades, I think there was one last Wednesday, so it will most likely be about a month before there is another.

The best way to get an upgrade is book the lowest category cabin you would be comfortable with and book it at a guarantee. Depending on when you book, you could get upgraded a few decks up in the same type cabin, some people have actually gotten upgraded from inside to oceanview by booking guarantee. You will not receive your cabin assignment until closer to your cruise date or when you arrive at the port. The worse that can happen you will get the category you booked, you could be anywhere on the ship though. To get an on board credit, check the cruiseline specials, at times they run specials that if you book within a certain period of time and a certain category, then they will give an On Board Credit just for booking. Some agents give an on board credit if you book through them.

We just asked. The ship wasn't full, so we got a free cabin upgrade. I don't know how to get credits or anything though, I'm sure a return guest could help you more with that.
