Default Cruise Lines?

I'm looking into going on a cruise around January. It will be just me and my husband and we have found some 3-4 day cruises for around $250 per person. Can anyone tell us about the different cruise lines that sail in the Carribean? So far we have found Carnival, Princess, and Royal Carribean if anyone knows any others please tell us about those also. Thanks

Default Cruise Lines?

hi!.. i have been on norwegian crusie line twice i am pretty sure that they travel to the Carribean.. although i have not gone there with them.. it is alot better than the other crusise lines beacuse the food for dinner is open at all time and you can eat in at a resturnat whenever you want.. but for the other crusie lines you have to book dinner at a certian time and if you are not there you loose your spot and cannot eat there that nightt.. which kind of stinks becasue you have to book your time for dinner in the morning but if you are off of the boat exploring who knows where you will be back!.. good luck and have fun... i would recommend norwegian if they do sail to the Carribean though

Default Cruise Lines?

Check vacationstogo.com. I go by the ships star rating. Its more valuable to me to judge how good a cruise is going to be than the particular line. The shorter the cruise the more of a party atmoshpere. If you want to avoid that go for 7 days or more. A good deal is anything less than $100 /person/per day.

In addition to Carnival, RC and Princess, there is Cunard, Windstar, Holland America, Costa, Yachts of Seabourn, Norweigen, and Disney just to name a few.Carnival is a good, economical choice. However, a word of warning on those teaser rates on the web...they are for the smallest cabin and usually don't include port fees and taxes which can add $75-100 per person.A really good search engine to compare cruises is www.vacationstogo.com. You can search by cruise line, desintation or even departure port. This site also has 90-day ticker and bargain deals. I saw some great deals for January departures. You should also remember to budget the tips...$10 per day per guest.

Most of the shorter (three and four night cruises) are offered by Carnival and Royal Caribbean. However, there are several cruise lines that cruise in the Caribbean:Carnival, Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) and Royal Caribbean.Princess, Holland American Line (HAL) and Celebrity. Disney, Costa and the luxury lines.Carnival, NCL and Royal Caribbean are the three star lines. They offer a good cruise experience for a low cost. These lines are family friendly and attract a younger active group of passengers.Princess, HAL and Celebrity are the four star (premium) lines. All have children's programs but there are less families on these lines. They cost a little more than the three star lines and attract an older more passive group of passengers.Disney is expensive (more so than the four star lines) and very family friendly. Costa is a three star line that only sails in the Caribbean during the late fall, winter and early spring. Costa is an Italian line, so it offers a more European experience. The luxury lines (Silversea, Crystal, Regent ...) are the five star lines. They are expensive and only offer a limited number of Caribbean cruises. These lines will accept children, but are not family friendly. Besides being wealthy, the passengers on these lines tend to be older and prefer to entertain themselves.

Also, check out CruiseCritic.com - click on "Boards" then browse the boards for the various lines. You'll get a good idea of what the different lines are like. Your library will also have books on cruising that can help you sort out the various factors involved in choosing a cruise.

Norwegian cruise lines has a cruise that is sailing from Miami on Jan. 27th It is a 5 night cruise for only 279$. I have already booked this cruise for my family because it looks like sooooooo much fun!!! To me that is a great price for that long of a cruise. Go to www.NCL.com and look at the ship 'jewel" its worth a shot anyway. This cruise goes to cozumel and cayman islands. So it is still a carribean cruise for a great price in my eyes!!! Good luck to you!!
