Royal Caribbean. They have better ships and service. The food is better, and they have lots of activities, and great itineraries.

Have you tried Ocean Village - a lot cheaper.

Definitely Royal Caribbean. Carnival is for the very young and lively.

Deffinately Royal Caribbean, they still have dress standards for evenings, lots of activities and the crews have always been great.

Another option is Norwegian Cruise line, freestyle cruising isn't for everyone but some really prefer it.Best of Luck to You!

I have been on three Carnival cruises and have one future Carnival cruise booked. I have been on two Royal Caribbean cruises and have three future Royal Caribbean cruises book.Basically the two lines are very similar. Personally I think Carnival has slightly better food. The service on both seem about the same. All the Carnival ships have water slides while all the Royal Caribbean ships have rock climbing walls. The bigger Royal Caribbean ships have some fun extras like an ice skating rink and on the Voyager class, an inline skating track. On the Freedom class the Flowrider (a surfing simulator) takes the place of the inline skating track. The Freedom class ships also have a mini water park known as the H2O Zone.Personally I am happy with both and will continue to cruise on both.

Depends on what you are looking for. Both are excellent cruise lines for the general market. The food is comparable on both. Royal Caribbean ships are probably a little more innovative than the Carnival Ships. All things considered both cruise lines are probably very similar. So the determining factor would probably be the itinerary of both lines. Which line has a port close to you and what are the destinations that they will sail to.
