Royal Caribbean, Carnival. What do you like best? Are you going on any cruises any time soon? Which one? When?

We have been on Disney, Royal Caribbean and 3 times on Carnival with a 4th trip planned for June, 2008.Of all of the experiences, the RC was the worst. I could have just been the ship. The plumbing was backed up and most all of the public restrooms had to be closed during the trip. The bartenders would only serve us sodas after all of the bar drink customers had been served even if we were there first, one of the cabin stewards failed to make up a room 3 of the 7 days we were on board, no ice in the room, no clean towels. We like Carnival and have hosted several large family events (20 guests, 14 guests and 7 guests) on various trips. The younger folks in our groups seem to like the laid back style on Carnival. The 24x7 pizzeria is a big hit with our teens as well.Carnival is definitely a party atmosphere.

I've been to both, and I have to say I liked the Carnival better. Of course, I'm only 14, but my parents also enjoyed it so...The person above me is right, the Royal Caribbean had a busted arcade, OUR rooms weren't made sometimes, and there's a curfew for kids under a certain age.

I like smaller ships. I have been on Seabourn twice (they only have a maximum of 208 passengers) and will be leaving from Barbados on November 17 for a two week southern Caribbean cruise. They are pretty expensive, but everything is included (all tips, all drinks, everything), and their cabins are luxurious. I love the service and the intimate feeling; no huge crowds, never a line for anything. The food is wonderful and the people are nice, well traveled, and its a very "dressy" ship, something I love to do; dress up!I can't wait to board!

I have been on two Royal Caribbean cruises and three Carnival cruises. I have three future Royal Caribbean cruises booked and one future Carnival cruise booked. It has been my experience that the two cruise lines are very similar, and thus I don't really have a favorite. The service on both is about the same. The food on Carnival is a little better than the food on Royal Caribbean, in my opinion. If you are asking what do I like the best about cruising, it is so relaxing. From the moment the muster drill ends until the morning I have to leave the ship, I can do what I want when I want, and I don't have to worry about cooking or cleaning. As to future cruises, I have five future cruises booked:1) A short three night cruise to Ensenada out of Los Angeles in December 2007.2) A 13 night cruise from Los Angeles to Miami through the Panama Canal in February 2008.3) A one week cruise to the southern Caribbean out of San Juan, PR in April, 2008.4) A five night cruise to eastern Canada out of New York in August 2008.5) A one week cruise to the Mexican Riviera out of Los Angeles in June 2009.

Have been on both and prefer royal caribbean. The service is better, staff actually seem to enjoy their job, and they are friendly. The ships are newer and well maintained. RCCL has a lot more onboard activities and better nightlife and shows. Also they have better food, and more variety in food choices. My next cruise is in May on RCCL's adventure of the seas. Its a southern Caribbean cruise leaving from San Juan.

Its really a matter of personal taste but I have been on both and I would choose Royal Caribbean over Carnival. Carnival is a great deal if you looking for a basic cruise ship but if you want to take it up a notch go Royal Caribbean. Royal offers a whole lot more especially if you book the Voyager or Freedom class ships. Ice skating rinks, rock climbing walls, pro style basketball courts, putt putt and so much more. I am sailing on the Navigator in March, can't wait.Travel Nut @ BC Travel Company
