I booked airline tickets online and didnt realize the travel agency was in the UK. I thought I was getting a great deal and used my brother's credit card to buy what I thought were tickets that cost $1560 US Dollars. Turns out they were charging in pounds not dollars. I contacted the overseas company to try and cancel immediately..within minutes of purchase. I sent numerous emails, and no answer. I called the company, overseas, numberous times, just to be placed on hold for over 30 minutes each time and then get hung up on. The charge hit the account and charged over $3300 dollars. Finally I was able to get through to someone over there and they informed me that the tickets were non-refundable!! It clearly states on the confirmation letter a phone number to contact in order to modify or cancel this booking. I had my bro contact his credit card number to dispute this. Will they credit his acct or are we a$$ed out of this money? Any help/advise would be helpful.

I used e-dreams to book tickets for my brother and didn't realize the prices were in euro dollers. Same thing, they won't do a refund or even bump him to first class. Luckly it didn't cost near as much over as yours did! Don't know if he tried to have the credit card cancel it or not. DON'T USE E-DREAMS TO BOOK TICKETS!!

Depends on whether or not your credit card has a policy to intervene on your behalf in the dispute with a merchant. Call your credit card company and ask them. I know American Express does.
