It is a federal run program. President Reagan fired the air traffic controlers when he was president

The Federal Government. The big deal is there is much more air traffic these days, and they haven't hired new personnel.

im pretty sure it is partially funded by the federal government and regulated by them but i think the airline companies fund some of it too.

The federal government -you pay for it but the airlines don't want you to know or you might rather support Amtrak

funded by feds. Actually in more ways than one. It is a high paying job with lots of health issues. Those that are military controllers trained by the Air Force seldom stay more than one hitch. They get the training and get out for the big bucks.
