It is to save on weight and fuel comsuption.Although you have to consider that those aircrafts need to be polished by employees because the paint on a aircraft protect the metal.So you need to pay employees to polish those aircraft so it add cost.The fuel saving has to offset the extra employee time needed.The polishing is needed on an unpainted aircraft to avoid corrosion.

paint increases the weight of the plane, decreasing the mileage that the plane can travel, some planes have upwards of a couple thousand pounds or more of paint and/or primer. Air Canada (Canadian Airline) did this to one of their aircraft (boeing 767 i believe) as a test, in hopes to increase the mileage that the plane can travel.
