Default How do you book CHILDREN's AIRPLANE TICKET ONLINE?

Well, I'm about to visit Boston and come back (December), riding nonstop airline. So, today, using kayak.com, I liked the Delta one.. so I was about to book it. BUT, it said that I have to be 18 years + to hav the ticket! (AND I'M ONLY 12) . It's really expensive to order a ticket directly calling Delta Airline,, so can I just book the ticket in kayak.com saying that I'm 18 years old?? (and put my mom's credit card #) OMG.. I'm soo confused right now! I need ur help.p.s.: Also, since Delta Airline asks 12 yrs old for Umcompanied Minor program..

You have to be 15 to fly alone on Delta;http://www.delta.com/planning_reservations/special_travel_needs/services_for_children/children_traveling_alone/index.jsp?MkCpgn=PIzzz1aIt makes sense to make a 12 year old a Unaccompanied Minor. It really isn't a big deal. You simply follow someone around. You probably wouldn't be alone. Remember that 16 and 17 year olds are "UM"s too (usually riding with younger siblings). You get help getting to your gate and finding your luggage. It makes flying really easy. I'm an ex-Flight Attendant and we had lots of UM's on my flights. It wasn't babysitting and we didn't treat them any differently than the other children on board. They simply had more help. Get your mom to help you buy your ticket. You can also try calling the airlines directly and see if that doesn't get you a better price. I still get my tickets through an agent, yes, a better deal than on the net! You never know. Then be sure to sign up as an Unaccompanied Minor to make your flight much easier. There's no advantage in not doing so and it's worth the small fee!Have a good time in Boston!
