Default Wouldn't it be nice for Southwest Airlines to come to Milwaukee,WI(MKE)?

Midwest was bought by TPG which is part of Northwest Airlines. Southwest could provide clean and reliable non-stop service from MKE to Las Vegas, Phoenix, Baltimore, Kansas City, San Luis and maybe Denver. Southwest is much better than Airtran anyday. Other cities of similar size such as Omaha, Oklahoma City and San Luis have Southwest service why can't Milwaukee? Midwest Airlines is a little bit overrated. People like Midwest because of fresh hot cookies baked on board which is rediculus. You don't pay high prices and like an airline because of fresh cookies onboard. Southwest with thier extensive route network could provide one stop or connecting service to cities like San Diego, San Francisco/Oakland, Seattle, Philadelphia and Nashville.I worte a letter to the president of Southwest Airlines suggesting MKE. I got a letter from his secretary telling me that they have tried to numerous times and Midwest Airlines was able to block the lease and keep them out of Milwaukee.

Or Atlanta, for that matter! I love Air Tran right now though.

Try leaving out of Chicago Midway.

It would be nice, but remember, Southwest rarely has direct flights. If anything, Southwest is like a bus service in the air; they stop at every flippin' airport from your origin to your destination.Another reason may be that you have a terminal in Chicago, and it's not cost-effective for them to set up in Milwaukee.I went one-way from Midway airport to San Diego because of cost. It took me damn near 7 hours; had to stop in at least 3 different airports before Diego.

Politics and dollars, my friend. Also, the answer above (dirtyleg), stoping 3 times to go from Midwest to San Diego and 7 hrs. is b.sFlew Midwest to LAX non-stop (4 hrs). Can always connect to San Diego with another Southwest, so it is only one stop.

I can't see how they will ever serve Milwaukee because they have such a large presence in Chicago. BTW Southwest does fly non-stop from Chicago to LA and to San Diego. Maybe not all flights are non-stop, but I have done it (Vegas too).
