difficulty of landing a commerical airline career after airforce?

after serving in the air force as a pilot is it competitive and hard to get a job as a pilot for commercial airline companies such as UPS, DHL, and Southwest?does it depend on what type of jet you flew? fighter pilot vs. bomber etc? thanksthanks for the answerbut how about after 10 years from now? same situation? better? worse? thanks

It will help you, because it looks good on a resume.However, being a pilot in the AF doesn't qualify you to fly civilian aircraft also. You will still need to goto college and get your license to fly civi's around. Unfortunately, the market is VERY competitive right now, as they are laying off A LOT of pilots for budget cuts, and getting a job as a new pilot might be difficult.Lastly, if you fly a cargo plane C-130 or something, vs a F-22 you will have a better chance. Because its something your more used to flying. Best of luck.
