Minor on board???? I flew a few times on my own when I was younger - I think the first time I was 10. We usually traveled via American, Delta, or Southwest. Since an adult family member bought the ticket for you to travel alone, most airlines aren't uptight about minors being alone onboard. Occasionally an overbearing flight attendant will be a pain; just tell her/him politely but firmly that you don't need assistance, but thanks for the offer, and you'll let them know if you change your mind. Of course, as a basic rule, be mature and take responsibility. If you act like a four year old, they'll treat you like one.Edit: Sometimes huge airports (LAX) have policies about escorting minors to and from their gates due to security. Otherwise, they'll usually only check to make sure you know where you're going and let you get there on your own. |
