Default Number of Seats Available on Southwest Airlines Flights?

Other airlines show you seat maps that tell you how crowded a flight might be. How do you find out the number of seats sold or available on a Southwest Airlines flight?

You can't. If you call reservations, they might tell you an approximate percentage of seats left but they will not tell you an exact number. If you go to theier website and look up the flight like you're making a reservation, you can guess how full or empty a flight is by the number of fare classes Southwest is offering but even that's not accurate because the lower fares have ticketing time limits (14 days, 7 days, etc.) and will be taken off the site even if the flight is wide open.

Yes you can check the availability of seats available or sold on many airlines. You can even take a look and book a particular seat on a plane, it also shows you how many seats have remained vacant on a plane. For Southwest Airlines flight's seat availablity on a plane, you can enter dates on which you would like to travel to a place and check if Southwest Airlines is showing up and you can view and book a particular seat at this site: http://www.bookmyhotel.biz/airbooking.htm . This site shows alerts about how many seats have been left. Just check it up.

DRL is right...there is no "seat map" for Southwest Airlines to provide, since seats are not chosen prior to boarding. again, you may try calling reservations to see if the flight is sold out, or you can ask how many open seats are available to purchase (keeping in mind that airlines overbook anywhere from 1-15 seats)...but the reservations agent may be prohibited from giving you exact numbers.
