Default What are the Flight Benefits on Other Airlines?

I work for jetblue right now and the flight benefits are pretty good. I am looking into a position with another airline though because, JetBlue does not fly everywhere. I would like the benefit of having more options. I am looking into other airline, but none of them post what their flight benefits are. I heard Delta is the best, But I also heard that they have a Seniority list as where you get in the plane in the order or your seniority. With JetBlue, we offer seniority by the time that you check in for the flight. Just some questions about other airlines are basically, how many times can you fly standby... do they offer any other benefits to other airlines? Is it hard to get on a flight standby?... Are there major restrictions?... Do all other airlines offer Domestic Partner Coverage? (With JetBlue we offer Significant other AND Domestic Partner Coverage, Domestic Partners are considered the same as a Spouse while a Sig Other doesn't get the same Benefits.) Any info would help THANKS

i also work for the good ole blue jet..anyways, as a former American airlines employee, i can say that jetblue is one of the best as far as flight bennies go... not sure where you are located right now, but don't jump ship just because of the benefits.what kind of counter agreements do you have? i'm from msy originally, now at BNA, and we have agreements with southwest, us air, delta, united, and frontier. i can still get American, northwest, Continental, and air tran counter agreements as well out of MSY.when i worked for AA, you had to pay to fly on the standby list until you were there a certain amount of time. not to mention the seniority thing. at least with jetblue, the highest person is only been here 7½ years. that is always something to think about. AA did allow my girlfriend and only one of my parents, but no domestic partner.

Default What are the Flight Benefits on Other Airlines?

Hello fellow airline employee. I work for Delta Airlines in FLL. I will try to cover most of the benefits for flights at Delta. O.k., first, we have to pay a total annual charge of $50. for everyone that is included on our list. That includes both parents, spouse, and kids. The total is $50 for all...not for each. We started doing this while in bankruptcy to offset some of the costs for our airline. This $50 also includes our family and friends certificates (buddy passes). I believe that buddy passes are about the same at most airlines (paying @10% of full fare + airport taxes). Now, this is what we get:Employee + spouse and kids: 18 transoceanic passes per year...each additional pass costing $150 round trip - i believe this is still the same...unfortunately, I have kids and do not get out of the country unlimited S3 passes per year : unlimited flying anywhere domestically on basic standby (yes, we do go by senoirity).Six (6) S2 passes per year per each person (employee, spouse and kids): priority passes which bumps you higher on the senority list. So if I use an S2 pass, and an employee with 40 years is using a S3 pass, I will get on before them.Parents: 18 S3 passes per year. No transoceanic passes available. If you choose not to designate a parent on your flight benefits, we offer a companion pass. This will let you choose a friend or relative to use unlimited S3 passes per year. Now, I do not have a companion pass, so I am not aware of all the exact things it includes, so I may be a little off on that one.And last thing: if we excel during the year, we may be awarded a S1 pass. This bumps everyone else down again.A S1 is high priority seating. If you have a death in the family, you get an S1 pass as well. It is listed as a family emergency pass and you will be given a seat as soon as all paying passengers are cleared. When I worked in ATL. getting on a flight was no problem. Now I work in FLL and the flights are pretty booked most of the time, but, I still have never had a problem getting my family to where we needed to go. Oh, and we do offer flight benefits to the "significant other". I believe they get the same as a spouse would. I know this is the case with the insurance we offer as well. If you have any other questions, feel free to shoot me an email. Hope this enlightens you a bit.

Not sure about Delta, but US Airways offers unlimited free travel to anywhere they fly. For international flights, you only pay the international taxes. These benefits are good for you, your spouse/domestic partner, children, and parents pay a minimal fee each way. If you don't have a spouse or domestic partner, you can nominate anyone you want to be on your benefits. If you choose this option the IRS taxes your income the amount the buddy pass fare would cost. (Example: You are in the 15% tax bracket, a RT LAX-JFK is $100 for the buddy pass fare, so $15 would be deducted out of your check).Boarding is by seniority but you get 2 passes a year to use that will put bump you to a higher priority above the other employees (that is unless they are using the special pass and have more seniority). Other than peak travel times it's pretty easy to get on. If not, Southwest is an option at $25 each way, space available. In addition you get discounted space available tickets on virtually every airline in the world. LAX-SYD (Sydney, AUS) for example runs approx. $300 RT.
