Default Any experiences with Gatwick Airport?

I am a little worried that I might miss a flight at Gatwick. I am flying there from US and I have 50 minutes to switch airplanes at Gatwick (US airways to Qatar Airways). Is that enough time? I think my plane lands in one terminnal and I have to go to another terminal to catch another flight. Do I have to go through custom there( I am not checking out my lugggage there, I am going to check in my luggage to the final destination)?

You should be ok - hoping your US flight isn't delayed. You'll probably stay within the 'departures' zone so you shoudn't need to do customs again unless you leave that zone. There'll probably be a special route for people taking onward connections. If you have to change terminals you'll probably have to take the free train but it's only a few minutes. If your flight was all booked at the same time I'd think they'll know if you've landed or not and hold your next flight for you.Shame you're not there for long - there's some good shops at Gatwick airport! You could check on their website to see which airlines fly to which terminals. http://www.gatwickairport.com/Good luck and have a good trip!

Travel time between terminals is only about five-ten minutes. If you are not going landside you will probably not go through customs (though you may have a security check), your luggage will be transferred while you are waiting to board. If you're hanging about the departure lounge (or shopping!), remember to check the TV monitors regularly, as there are no public address announcements. If you have booked a through ticket, ask your ticket seller what their procedure is in case your inward flight is delayed.

Just hope that your flight is not delayed, even if it is, it shouldn't be that long. There are only two terminals, North and South, and the transfer should not take long and can only range from like 5 to 10 minutes. Gatwick airport is smaller than Heathrow one. Just make sure that the luggage says to your exact destination, so you don't have to do the checking out and all, that's the airport's responsibility.I've flew in Gatwick airport from Toronto, and from there to Prague, and never had any bad experiences. You should stay in the Departures area in order not to miss a flight, but I read that you have to transfer to another terminal, so best is to get there and then stay there. Just get your fingers crossed!Have a safe flight! For more information, feel free to check: http://www.gatwickairport.com/It's a good airport - they have some good shops, too, i.e. La Senza, etc..
