Cough Syrup Question...San Diego Fire Related? I live in the San Diego area, and suffer from a number of health problems including esophagitis, Fibromyalgia, IBS with diarrhea, and I've also had difficulties with airways in the past that they never identified...similar to asthma, but they determined it was not asthma. Anyways, I've been having difficulty breathing (big time) due to the fires (the smoke is the biggest problem in my area). I've been using an albuterol inhaler, and I've also had to rely on a home nebulizer machine with a mask at this point. The cough and sore throat have been terrible. I have not been outdoors, we have the windows and doors sealed tightly, and what I'm experiencing is just from it being in the air all around us. The cough was so bad last night that I took some cough syrup with codeine I was wondering how safe this is to take for this type of cough? It did stop the cough for the night and enabled me to sleep, but is this the right thing to do. I tried expectorants earlier in the day and they failed |
