Default Did anyone hear about the 8 year old little girl removed from a US Airways flight the day after Thanksgiving??

The response I saw on FOX news from the US Airways Spokeswoman was truly shocking!! Apparently the flight was overbooked, (surprise..surprise) and the family decided to split up; the Mom stayed behind with her parents, and the Dad took the two kids onto the flight with him to go home. The plane was so disorganized that once onboard they then found they had no regular seats left and the attendant offered to place the 8 year old up into first class; but, when no seat was found there either, the attendant simply removed the girl from the plane without notifying the father until after take-off. I was disgusted, and I want to send the story info to my friends and family as a warning about Holiday travel; does anyone have know of a link to the story???

Here is the linkhttp://www.myfoxphoenix.com/myfox/pages/News/Detail?contentId=5155995&version=4&locale=EN-US&layoutCode=VSTY&pageId=3.2.1I was also VERY surprised that they put an 8 year old OFF the flight. I cant imagine that this is allowed under ANY regulations.

I am not familliar with this story. If you're right about what happened I am shocked beyond belief!!I have never seen/heard of/experienced such a thing!Stories like this really trouble me on many levels. As an Industry Professional I am asking some serious questions. Why would an F/A offload an 8 y.o minor? Where was the Incharge? A series of events had to take place in order for this to happen. And those events started at the Check-in counter when the Family decided to split up.Ultimately the F/A or Incharge should not have offloaded a minor without notifying the Father first. Obviously there was an error of seat availability calculation in the Computer system at the check-in counter. Seat assignments are set at the counter, not on board the Aircraft. One must question the judgement of the F/A responsible. I would really be interested to hear her explanation. (I'm sure we will never get to hear her side of the story...)And to think that this individual is entrusted with the "safe" care of unaccompanied minors on a regular basis? And responsible for the safety and security of an Aircraft and hundreds of Passengers? I would not want someone like that on my team at 37.000ft!!A Flight Attendant has a tremendous Safety-oriented responsibility. Sounds to me like it's time for her to surrender her wings and move on...I am truly embarrased and ashaimed to call this person one of my own kind.I think she should be fired, if the above account of events is accurate!

What kind of idiots would allow that? I don't mean the airline, I mean the dumbsh*t parents? If there wasn't enough seats for the whole family, then the whole family should try for another flight. Any family that allows itself to get separated like that to begin with are imbeciles, and deserve what happens to them.

Sorry but that family volunteered to separate. They simply removed the 8 year old and brought her back to her mother who was waiting outside. I think it was handled badly. The father should have been informed. They could have asked for a volunteer from among the other passengers. They should have asked for volunteers before boarding began. But don't make it sound like she was simply kicked off. I think it was more than the F/A who was at fault here and asking for someone to be fired, when there were many who erred, is not reasonable.
