Default Does anyone have any recommendations for a good sedative I could take while flying on a very small airplane?

I recently booked a flight on US Airways and I just found out I'll be flying on a Dehavilland Dash 8. I have never in my life flown on such a small plane and I have anxiety to begin with so I am currently freaking out. Has anyone ever been on a plane like that or do you have any good suggestions for a sedative I could take while on it to calm my nerves? Thanks for your help!

Just take a dramamine. Get it at any drug store. It'll make you a little sleepy, but also will help with airsickness you might experience on a small plane. Have a good trip!

Well first of all believe it or not smaller planes like the dash 8 are actually safer than big jets like 737 747 757 etc. the first time i went in a small plane like that i almost barfed. i was soooo scared and nervous i almost had to cancel. but i didnt. its not scary at all and its a neat experience. I go on cessna 150's which have only 2 seats on them! REMEMBER you wont fall out of the sky!Hope it helps!

on the Dash 8, yes, they are only small prop planes but many people see this as a 'funner' way to fly. There are less passengers, normally only 1 flight attendant and from what I have herd for QantasLink (here in Australia), the captain sometimes has a small interaction with the cockpit (over the PA) cracking a few jokes or a more detailed plan of for his flight. The Dash 8 is a very safe aircraft. There have been problems with the landing gear last year but all aircraft have been fixed.I dont know what type of sedatives you have in the US so I cant recommend any, but before taking a dose of them, give the flight a chance first, you may like it more than a normal jet flight!good luck.
