Default Flying from Manchester UK to Melbourne Australia via Singapore , please quote cost of access baggage per kilo.

We will be flying with Singapore airways and are allowed 20 kg, above that will be access and probably chargeable. We have just become KrysFlyer members but have not accrued any points, as we booked flight some time ago. Maybe we will not qualify for free access baggage without points. If possible please tell us cost per kg if we are overweight. Thanks, Audrey T

Unfortunately, accuring points will not assist in overweight baggage. Travelling in Economy class, it states that you're allowed to carry 20kg p/person, however, you will be allowed a 5kg buffer before paying for overweight charges, thus 25kg p/person. Not to mention that you're allowed to bring on one personal item (such as a laptop bag) onboard without that being counted as a cabin luggage. When you reach elite gold status on Krisflyer (50000 miles), you will be allowed an additional 20kg p/person. Unfortunately i can't find a charge for the overweight baggage charges, however, it is around 1-3% of the Economy class fare for each kg overweight. You can contact Singapore Airlines MAN for more information

The cost of excess baggage will depend on the airline you'll be travelling with, so it might be an idea to check the price with the airline or ask your travel agent to do this for you.Costs can range from about £6 per kilo upwards.Have a good trip!
