As far as the Us Carriers go, its slightly below average. not the worst, but not better then average either.But then again, most US airlines are not very good these days. And often times it just comes down to personal experience.

Right now all US airlines are not considered really great except for a few smaller carriers. The legacy carriers such as US Airways are average or below average. When airlines served free hot meals on board long flights, US Airways was one of the carriers that spent the least amount of money on food. The joke was that for a beverage you had a choice of either a black liquid (Coca-cola or coffee) or a white beverage (Sprite or water).I am sure some people think it is pretty good, but the last time I flew from Los Angeles to Pittsburgh, PA, all I was offered was a cup of coffee. This was for an over 4 hour long flight.

USAir spensd less than most on services. not a terrible airline, but not the best domestic either. Whatever you do, DO NOT fly USAir through Philly, which is one of their major hubs. They have a terrible baggage system. You will most likely lose any checked bags.
