Bush doesn't make the price of Oil. You need to look to India and China if you want to blame the rise in oil prices.

The effect of China and India has yet to come.Bush's policies can be seen to increase the price of oil. Two-fold.1. Making the Middle-East unstable. Thereby increasing the price of oil. It was $27 pre-war; now it is $100.2. The Price of Oil is judged by OPEC companies - some of America's enemies are a part. OPEC in their last meeting were deciding whether they should peg the price to the dollar. This was because the dollar is now losing its value. For every barrel of oil, they get dollars. OPEC countries don't like it. So they are deciding to abandon the dollar. This is very bad for America as the dollar being the world currency is one main reason for their dominance. Transfer to a basket of other currencies and commodities (such as Gold for instance) is inevitable, but not soon. The Saudis have a huge stock pile of Dollars and they are part of OPEC; they wouldn't want to see the dollar worth erode that sharply.In the Wall Street Journal, I read that the price of oil has remained the same for the last couple of years if it were pegged to Gold. The price of oil has not increased in comparison to Gold.This is what happens to the dollar when it isn't backed by Gold in banks. The fact is government can make money out of thin air. It is not a conspiracy theory. It has been admitted by Central banks all across the world. The solution to the problem would render the big banks penniless and it is not thought of as a solution.The fact for the poor is simple, but not easy. Hard work. Graft. My parents were poor. They worked hard. They knew the value of education. They studied. Blaming what others are not doing for you are excuses when you yourself are the only solution to your problems. The Republicans run for themselves. The poor lose out.The Democrats think that giving money for being poor would help the poor. Money runs out. And the poor are left again in the same place as before. Any solution that both parties give to the poor are temporary. Yes the US could open up refineries in Alaska. But it's short-term. You are eventually going to have high prices again.If you think the government is there to help you, then you only have yourself to blame. Nothing on this Earth is easy to achieve.

Here's a little clue: If you want to point the finger of blame at someone for the high price of oil, point your little nosepicker at Hugo Chavez, not President Bush.The poor will get their subsidies, just like they always do.

Wow - Bush did all that by himself? The guy must be pretty smart. BTW - it's speculators such as George Soros that have run up oil and driven down the dollar.

The price of gasoline started going up in 1998.Clinton started writing the budget in 1997.You figure out who screwed up the price of oil.

since the index price for oil,electricity....food is set by the stock exchange,which is operated by mostly wealthy Americans,how is Bush responsible for that?

Elect a Democrat. They are good at straightening out the economy. (Clinton, JFK LBJ, FDR).The ethanol program was Bush's initiative. A great deal for agri-biz.Bush is not entirely responsible for the high gas prices, just mostly responsible. Clueless Republicans may think he hasn't manipulated the market with his huge purchases of oil for the Strategic Oil Reserves and his meetings with the Saudi Princes. But how can they ignore the botched "renewal in Iraq"? If you want to see high prices, just wait till we start fighting the Iranians in the Persian Gulf.
