Default How much should it cost to fit a new combi boiler/take out old one. Same place, roughly same size etc.. (UK)?

I have just been quoted by British gas (£3,900)A bit overpriced I think. Just wanted an opinion on rough prices really, thanks

depends on the boiler, today it will be a condensing boiler due to regulations and can cost upto £2000. plus fitting.

British Gas will almost certainly be the dearest, but I did use them for my central heating because I knew the job would be done well and the after sales support and service would be good - and I was right. For the best deal find a reliable local firm and remember that cheapest probably isn't best.

The boiler about 900 - 1000 plus labour costs and VAT so i reckon anything less than 1600 is a good deal - BG will be expensive but work will be guaranteed - look at their monthly insurance policy about 10 pounds a month but then you can get it repaied at low cost. Make sure the company that fit it are corgi registered. I told BG they were too expensive and they took 900 off the quote - woth a try!!

For a normal UK house you can get a combi from £400 upwards. You'll probably end up choosing one about £600-800 - thats the UK typical price when you look at a mid-range item in a plumbers merchants,To fit it in the same place as the old one ? 2 days max - £400

Most has already been answered. Personally I would not touch BG with a ten foot barge pole. Interestingly enough a BG fitter advised my daughter roughly the same - have a new boiler but get anyone but BG to fit it. You can buy a lot of insurance with their overpricing.

remove existing combi boiler drain down system remove flue and re cut pipework, where neccessaryinstall condensate drain as new boiler would have to be a condenser, test gas pipework power flush system as requirement of manufacturers, rewire boiler and external controls to suit. re plumb new condensing boiler and commission fully as per instructions including pressure test and inhibitora little over two days work including full notification through corgi,£225 per day labour onlyboiler price range anything from 350 upwards but any good engineer wont enjoy fitting the really cheapo onesregardssteve
