Why is gas so high. The Oil companies say they can't lowere the price and the government can't reduce the taxes. Why with the Oil companies making record profit can't they reduce the prices at the starions???

Fat chance. Oil is a very limited commodity. Don't expect a sharp drop in prices.

I think it is a conflict of interests when our President says that he can't help the price of oil by reducing taxes or offering incentives for the companies to try to reduce cost. After all, his pocket book benifits from high oil prices.

Well if people would stop driving those big SUV's and superduty trucks, the demand would drop therefore so would the price.since that is not likely to happen, expect the price to rise. I would not be surprised to see $4.00+ in a year

With the huge wartime deficit spending and the attendant devaluation of the US dollar (better known as inflation), why are you surprised that everything including gasoline costs more? It actually costs about the same as it always did. You just can't used to the fact that a dollar buys less and less anything every day that passes.

I seriously doubt prices will ever go back down. All we can do is continue hoping it will and maybe one day we will be lucky enough for it to drop. All we can do for now besides hope is pay the price, or get a more fuel efficient car, or go with an electric car. Good luck

it won't be below 2.50 are u kidding , that's why the government are investing in hybird , plug in , and small engine like smartfor2 , etc . the american government are not stupid they know what they are and trying to keep the american nation and resident shut just so the american nation won't flip on the gov .as going to war , bush family own all those weapons and army suplly factory and by going to war he was trying to increase he's business , i mean come on china and russia have nuclear weapons , and oh yea saddam did horrible thing to his nation " yea right my ass"america dropped mustard gas on the chinese long time ago and they escorted all the asian from the united state to their country they were throwing them off the planes from up high, don't u think that's a crime. no wonder why asian bombed pear harbor . and yea to bring more lies bin ladden and saddam were best friend , ever wonder who gave the weapon to iraq " i know it wasn't my dad " it was the american .and so bin ladden was an FBI agent and have american citizen .it's 2008 wake up peoples .instead of spending money on going to wars why don't we spend the money on fixing the street bridges ,better enforcment ,more programs and everyone that live in america or pay taxes should have free insurance , if we have a brain here's my question we pay 20-25% out of the money we make what do we get from the gov other then retirment ?big deal "retirment only pay 1078 $ a month for older retire peoples . that's it maybe little more depend how much u works and how much u paid taxes .
