is AMTRAK the only passenger railway?

i'm trying to travel by train and amtrak isn't going where i need at the time i need it to. is it the only passenger train or is there other options? i'm trying to go from okla city, ok to kansas city, mo. thanks

As far as I know, it's the only railway operating nationally in the United States, but there are regional railways.

Sorry. In your part of the country Amtrak is the only rail service available. In fact for this particular journey you wouldn't actually be traveling on a train. It is served by an Amtrak thruway bus. It is a 6 1/2 hour trip and the fare is $75.00 each way. By comparison on Greyhound the fare is $81.00, and on American Airlines the fare is $510.00

Sadly, as the previous answerer stated, there is no current passenger rail service 'tween Oklahoma City, OK and Kansas City, MO.Interestingly, there ARE regional / commuter railroads springing up over more of the USA... California has 4, Arizona has one, and Utah now has one. Not to mention the numerous light-rail systems coming online.I commute by train each day, and once a month take a 260 mile round trip that only costs me $20 on the Altamont Commuter Express.
