I'm new to this country, and I have a 3 hour Amtrak train to take next weekend. It'd be great if you could tell me about what its like? What I need to do about my suitcase (I'm carrying a big one, about 40 pounds) and should I carry a drink and something to eat? I also need to pick up my ticket at the station, how early should I be there, are there long lines? Any suggestions would be great thanks!Do they serve any food as part of the price you pay for the ticket? Or is everything on a buy as you want basis?

You can bring suit case to your seat. Find a seat with no one beside you and you can put it there. Yes you can have food and drink to bring along. 30 minutes should be fine to get your ticket and catch the train. Amtrak depending where you get on and were youre going wont be alot of people on it. so relax and have a great ride....
