How many hours does it take to travel from Pliladelphia,PA to Pittsburgh?

4 by car 8 by amtrack with no delays ....amtrack is nicer

Go by car, it is an easy drive on the PA turnpike. 5.5 hours.

7 hours and 23 minutes by Amtrak - assumes no delays. Train 43 leaves Philadelphia at 12:42 PM weekdays and arrives 8:05 PM in Pittsburgh. The cost is $71 if one leaves on 11/19 or $45 if one leaves on 12/19.The PA Turnpike toll is $17.25 and gas is likely to cost about $50 give or take each way for a total cost of $67.25. With the holiday delays, the drive is likely to take 7 hours; hence, the train looks like the cheaper and less stressful alternative.

Hey when I was a kid we did that route all the time- from Drexel Hill to Pittsburgh and all those tunnels and many thunderstorms- 4 hours. Curious what it is today.Live up north now- I miss PA.

4 to 5 five maybe more hours depending on traffic and how well you drive.
