Default I'm taking an amtrak train for the first time this weekendd....?

I'm 16 and will be riding by myself. I'm realllllly nervous, and want to know whether or not it's a smart idea for me to be riding by myself. I also wondered what a train station was like and the procedures that take place before boarding and after. Do they check your luggage & do you go through metal detectors like a airport? And once you arrive where you were set out to go, do you just get off the train and leave to do what you're there to do? Or is there some kind of like, check out? Anyyy helpp, would make me feel so much betterr.

I took a trip when I was 18 , It was very hard. I was very scared and I thought it was going to be like in the movies. and it's not. it;s very sparse. The seats recline, bring a blanketSty close to an attendant, your kind of young but I think you should be ok if you let them know your traveling alone and stay within sight, remember if anyone strange is near you get away asap and go to the attendant and llet them know you dont keep comfy

In fact i traveled last year with my kids. I had a reclining seat and it was not comfortable by any means. Bring some snak foods and PJ sandwiches the food is expensive and bring a blanket and a coat for your to wear it gets pretty cold and ask for the reclineing chair on the lower deck near the food section. or with a view. you may be sitting next to others so bring some music or somthing to do while you are away... where you going ? how long is the trip?We went to Tucson AZ then to Los Angeles. My advice is to stay on the train when it goes from city to city it will be delayed like 2 hours in New Orleans not much to see there so they do take your luggage but bring on with you a small carrying case that goes whereever you go do not leave it on your seat it wil disappear take a toothbrush, some hand sanitizer and brush fo ryour hair and a new set of panties for the next day. YOU can not share a shower so that is out.Until you get to your desitination. You can get a private room thats costly very costly... we did not take it but next time i will take it even though tis costly i was up most of the night and bring a hat for your head those places are very very cold. They do have dinners out of the box microwaved.. sick huh?The breakfast we had was boxed french toast and no bacon and coffee and it cost me 15.00 for 1... and its not worth it... my advice is bring energy bars, gatorade and fruit cups and spoons they will nto giv eyou much of anything there.I hate amtrak they stink by my means if it was not so expensive i would have taken my girls to by plane... we had nice tiem but never again. There are some nasty people on these trains... smelly is mostly all of them its the cheapest wayt to get to point A to point B. Do not talk too much to anyone no one is your best friend on here.BECAREFUL OF YOUR Money... there is someone always with a sob story offen they all lie... so do not show them what you got if they ask you who you visiting your family mother etc... do not tell them your cell phone and becareful of your area. do not leave anything on the chair even the blanket they do steal on here. Why did you not pay for a airline ticket its usually the same price somtimes cheaper? What state you going to?Email me i put you on the buddy listLoretta
