Default If I am on Amtrak train from Los Angeles to San Diego, must I change trains?

Must I get down from my train and change to another train on the way? If I have to, which station?

No. The pacific surfliner runs between Union Station (LA) and downtown San Diego. Get seat on the right-side of the train and enjoy the ride. Once you get past Irvine, you have a great view of the coastline.

You can go all the way without changing trains but here is a faster and cheaper way to go.From Union Station in LA get on the MetroLink to Oceanside.From Oceanside take the Coaster to San Diego.They are commuter trains and The trip will save you about $15Here's the link for Coaster info http://gonctd.com

It is not faster to take Metrolink to the Coaster...it's slower as the Metrolink and Coaster make lots of stops and Amtrak only a few. Not to mention that Amtrak will have more times available that will work.
